About Voyz'n
Voyz'n is a word coined by my grandparents in the 1960's. It's loosely based on the French word for neighbor (voisine), but in my family it can also mean "Cheers", "To Good Health", or pretty much anything you want it to mean. Later on Voyz'n also became the name of a small, off-the-grid cabin in the woods where my family gathered during the holidays in a natural setting. This cabin is our inspiration to support and produce things made naturally, and with care (including wine, of course). Hand-crafted and aged in French oak barrels, and with fruit sourced from biodynamic and organic local vineyards, Voyz'n wines are created to be beautiful, natural, fine organic wines that you want to savor and share with your loved ones. From our family to yours... Voyz'n!

2021 Organic Swan Clone Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills AVA)
Our third vintage in a row featuring this bright, silky and smooth old-world style Pinot Noir, the Swan Clone has become the signature wine for Voyz'n, and is now carried on lists in over 120 fine restaurants in Southern California, Hawaii, Las Vegas and New York City. We love Swan by itself and will continue to explore how these original Burgundy clones express themselves in the unique terroir of the Sta. Rita Hills. Slightly lighter than our 667/115 Pinot, it softens in the glass with beautiful concentration, while still staying light on its feet. Hand-crafted and aged for 20 months in extra fine grained François Frères French Oak (33% new barrels), this low-intervention single vineyard Pinot Noir is velvety and rich with bright red fruit, complex aromatics and a long finish of raspberry and ripe strawberry dominating the palate. The organically farmed Swan clone fruit was intensified by the diatomaceous soil and cool ocean fog on the steep hillsides of the Donnachadh vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA of Santa Barbara County, CA. Family owned and organically farmed, Donnachadh is located on Santa Rosa Road, an area increasingly known for producing excellent pinot. The hillside blocks, devoted primarily to Pinot Noir, are more exposed to the ocean winds. The soil there is derived from marine shale deposits and features more clay, rocks and cobbles than the riverside blocks. Overall, the hillside environment is quite challenging for the vines, limiting yields and producing grapes of exceptional character. Produced naturally with minimal intervention. All bottles are hand numbered by the winemaker. Only 124 cases were made. Enjoy now or hold in your cellar.
2021 Organic 667/115 Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills AVA)
For our newest Pinot Noir release we've paired two organically farmed Dijon clones together. Slightly darker bodied than our Swan Clone Pinot, this low-intervention 25% whole-cluster vintage is silky and concentrated with a rich ruby color and an elegant nose of black raspberry and strawberry. Aged for 20 months in premium French oak (33% new barrels), it has an earthy, dark fruit finish with bright acidity, integrated tannins and hints of vanilla and caramel as it opens up. The organically farmed 667 and 115 clone fruit was intensified by the diatomaceous soil and cool ocean fog on the steep hillsides of the Donnachadh vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA of Santa Barbara County, CA. We kept a portion of the 667 Clone fruit as whole cluster in this case. The remainder of the 667 and all of the 115 Clone fruit was de-stemmed. Family owned and certified organic, Donnachadh is located on Santa Rosa Road, an area increasingly known for producing excellent pinot. Produced naturally with minimal intervention and very low SO2. All bottles are hand numbered by the winemaker. Only 149 cases were made. Enjoy now or hold in your cellar.
2021 Biodynamic A1/362 Grenache (Alisos Canyon AVA)
After our 2020 Grenache won placements at many fine restaurants in Southern California, we decided to make it again, only this time we combined A1 and 362 clones to create the second vintage of this low-intervention 100% biodynamic Grenache from Martian Ranch in Alisos Canyon AVA. Smooth and medium bodied with bright aromatics, delicate tannins and notes of strawberry, vanilla and raspberry on the palate, this wine was aged for 20 months in Le Roi and Epocure French oak (50% new barrels). The biodynamic farming practices at Martian Ranch in the Alisos Canyon AVA, combined with the cooling marine winds and weathered shale soils make this A1 and 362 Clone fruit exceptional. Produced naturally with minimal intervention and very low SO2. All bottles are hand numbered by the winemaker. Only 205 cases were made. Enjoy now or hold in your cellar.
2022 Organic Pommard Clone Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills AVA)
While our Swan Clone and 667/115 Clone Pinot Noir had already been winning placements at over 150 fine restaurants across the country, we decided to expand the Voyz’n lineup and continue exploring the expression of the various burgundy clones grown in the unique terroir of the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. This 2022 Pommard is one of our new efforts to continue showcasing the fascinating nuances between the Pinot Noir clones farmed organically at Donnachadh Vineyard in Santa Barbara County. While the
élevage was kept consistent with our other wines, the Pommard is noticeably darker and more complex than the Swan Clone, but slightly lighter than our 667/115. This low intervention, hand-crafted Pinot Noir is aged for 20 months in extra fine grained François Frères French Oak (33% new barrels), and features concentrated black raspberry and dark cherry on the palate with integrated tannins and a silky dark fruit finish. The organically farmed Pommard fruit was intensified by the diatomaceous soil and cool ocean fog on the steep hillsides of the Donnachadh vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA of Santa Barbara County, CA. Produced naturally with minimal intervention. All bottles are hand numbered by the winemaker. Only 72 cases were made. Enjoy now or hold in your cellar.
2023 Organic Wente/Clone 4 Chardonnay (Sta. Rita Hills AVA)
Given the success of our Pinot Noir and Grenache production from the previous vintages, we decided to add our very first organically farmed Chardonnay to the Voyz’n lineup for the 2023 vintage. After an extensive search fo the best fruit, we partnered with Hines Mail Road Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA, where we found a perfect blend of delicate, small Wente Clone fruit grown side by side with the typically larger clusters of Clone 4. Handcrafted and aged for 11 months in François Frères French oak (20% new), this low-intervention, old world style, cool climate Chardonnay is lush and concentrated with bright acidity, elegant minerality and a silky citrus finish with hints of vanilla and white pepper. The sustainable farming practices at Hines Mail Road Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA,
combined with the diatomaceous soil and cool ocean fog of this unique terroir, give this Wente and Clone 4 fruit exceptional character. Produced naturally with minimal intervention. All bottles are hand numbered by the winemaker. Only 128 cases were made. Enjoy now or hold in your cellar.
2023 Organic 828 Clone Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills AVA)
2023 marked our first year partnering with both Radian and Bentrock vineyards in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA, which are owned by Stan Kroenke (Screaming Eagle, LA Rams owner). Characterized by exceptionally small fruit size, small clusters and lower yield, these vines are grown sustainably at elevation in a very inhospitable environment, which brings a unique intensity and concentration to the wines. This 828 clone, in particular, was a passion project which we are excited to bring to life in a single clone release with very limited production. 828 Clone is a less common Pinot Noir varietal and is distinct in its ability to grow in a bush with clusters pointing up unless trained on a vine. Although 828 is typically thought of as a blending grape, we wanted to showcase it by itself in order to continue our focus on individual Burgundian clones from specific sites on the Central Coast. Handcrafted and aged for 20 months in French oak (40% new), this low-intervention, old world style, cool climate Pinot Noir is concentrated and complex, with bright aromatics and a silky finish of black raspberry and dark cherry dominating the palate. The sustainable farming practices at Bentrock Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA, combined with the diatomaceous soil and cool ocean fog of this unique terroir, give this 828 Clone fruit
exceptional character. Produced naturally with minimal intervention. All bottles are hand numbered by the winemaker. Only 50 cases were made. Enjoy now or hold in your cellar.
Andrew Smith, Winemaker
Andrew started Voyz'n wines in 2019 with the goal of supporting small organic and biodynamic vineyards in Southern California. Frustrated by a dearth of good options for finely made biodynamic and organic wine, he aims to cater to the growing number of people who want hand-made, low sulfite wine produced locally without the excessive pesticides, heavy additives or environmental damage caused by traditional farming.
Chuck Carlson, Winemaker
With over 40 years of experience in the industry, Chuck has headed up the winemaking programs at multiple vineyards in Southern California, and continues to specialize in producing carefully made, minimal intervention wines at his custom crush facility in Santa Maria, California.
